Naruto's audience is far younger than Bleach's? I don't think so. Naruto is mostly for preteens, not babies, while Bleach is for teens. Then again, people of different age groups above 13 can enjoy both shows.

Looks like another slow anime week. I guess that's why we buy anime DVDs to begin with.

Sweet, nice to see that you're a Nintendo fan. Wink

I, personally, cannot wait for the Virtual Console. I was thinking of games I never got to play all morning today.

I say screw both Nintendo and Microsoft, especially Microsoft. SOny has MS beat as far as online gaming goes. MS is charging thir customers to play games online, while Sony will NOT be charging to play games online, you only have to pay for extra levels, more outfits, etc., nothing more nothing less, Sony also has MS beat controller wise, Sony's giving you a wireless controller that can move any object, WITHOUT using the directional pad or analog sticks. I plan on buying the PS3 when I can.

I don't think downloading really has a negative effect on television viewing audiences. It's nothing like with video releases where it's a matter of paying money for the content or getting the content for free. In the case of TV broadcasts, it could provide incentive for someone to download the entire series, but if they like it enough to do that in the first place, there's probably a good chance that they'll still keep coming back to watch the show.

Either way, splitting FMA at episode 26 was definitely the stupidest move ever on AS's part. Before that, I actually had faith that the block could sustain itself. But Bleach attracts a similar audience, so hopefully it will see a rise in viewership this fall.

Although I'm still convinced that if 12-17 ratings were taken into account on Adult Swim, there'd be no problem at all.

PS3's controller is only tilt sensitive. Nintendo's controller can move in pretty much all directions. Plus it has a speaker on it which makes a sound which is then sent toward the TV. It can also be turned around to play like a standard controller. PS3 controller really is just a cheap imitation.

I honestly do not believe that downloading anime or buying fansubs of anime or any other way that one gets to see anime before it reaches the airwaves (if indeed it ever does) has anything to do with sagging ratings. I have seen most everything long before it finally rolls around on the television and yet I eagerly anticipate seeing those same episodes on TV. Why, because the experience of watching a show in English ( no matter how bad the dub is) on television is vastly different from watching it hunched over my computer screen. There is something about TV that legitimizes the experience for me and I enjoy that.
Why are ratings flagging, perhaps the audience is fed up with having to wait so long for new episodes. I love Inuyasha but I don't have the patience to search for the new eps every time Adult Swim has a whim to move them around. I was used to watching Inuyasha every Sat. night, and frankly I don't want to see it on Tue night and I don't feel like adjusting my vcr to tape it. Sounds silly but hey, its the truth. I am a creature of habit I bet many other viewers are too.
I hate to say this but I really don't think that the networks are much interested in anime anymore, it doesn't seem to pull in the big bucks they want.
BTW, Bleach is very good and even though I have already seen most of it, I am still hoping it actually makes it to the airwaves, I will certainly be there every week to see it.

You really cannot compare the downloads of domestic primetime shows like Desperate Housewives to downloads of anime series. A lot of people do download shows made here, but at the same time, the very first place you can see the episodes are on television. With anime, not the same case. Unlike domestic television, anime series are completely available, and continue to be made available, before they air on television here. That means the viewer can continue to download the show and thus never have to watch it on television again. Whereas with 24, if you want to see if the president is killed, you'll have to tune in Mondays on Fox.

Jeez, I've been doing more post about gaming then about anime lately.

That's extra stuff. You don't have to buy them you know. Stuff like fixs for Xbox games and other side stuff is free. Outfits, levels, and other stuff doesn't change the core game, so that why it's being charge, and it's not a whole lot. Yeah, it sucks, but if you like all the junk, you'll be in heaven. Besides, Xbox Live still has the others beat (as of right now). Nintendo doesn't really have an online service with the GameCube, and Sony has few and far between online games. Xbox Live took off because of games like Halo and others. Nintendo WiFi for the DS is taking off, however the Friend Code is a joke. As far as not charging people, Nintendo is doing the same with the Wii, however since they have haven't said anything as far as classic games, which was oddly quite at E3. Nintendo said that they won't charge for their games. Third and Second Party can, however, charge for their classic games. Open your eyes, Sony Fanboy

There was a PC controller that did the same thing. What's new about that? Only Nintendo token it a step foward. That's why it wasn't about talk about as much as the $500/$600 price tag. It sounds more tack on at the last moment to show up Nintendo then anything else.

EDIT: eye to eyes. I hope there's two of them.

Inuyasha was aimed at adults? I know it airs on Adult Swim, but I always thought its main audiences were 15-year-old bishie-claiming fangirls...
