i love one piece but i don't honestly see how a long running series would work cause when your trying to get all caught up with one piece it is best to watch through marathons

One Piece? REALLY?! First it was Bleach, then Naruto, now this?! I'm done. Toonami needs to learn that the big 3 is going to keep veteran fans away. The big 3 are NOT the key to making this last, and about the only long running anime that should be there is Fairy Tail, but FUNimation is too lazy to make more. They need more shows like Deadman Wonderland. If they want honest views, drop Naruto, Bleach, and don't air One Piece.
i thought most of there views came from bleach and i imgaine naruto is getting a lot of views and i can see one piece doing the same

YES! Finally One Piece returns to TV. I've been waiting for this for years. Finally everything is right in the anime/manga realm for the series. We have the manga chapters being released simultaneously, the anime simulcast, a great dub that is maintaining enough support to get further releases, and now a more uncut version of the anime appearing on TV. Anime smile

Not another endless piece of shounen garbage. They're killing Adult Swim with this crap. Bleach and Naruto were bad enough.

Right? They need to drop them and bring more 12 episode series and 24-26 episode series. They are just going to kill it like they did before.

Numbers seem to indicate that the shounen stuff works well for them , although I would argue its about where on the schedule a show is placed. But numbers don't lie, if they determine this is what works to get them over a mil viewers per show, then so be it. I do hope they can get Fairy Tail on next after Soul Eater runs its course.

Sad that it's another long running series. That means not much will change for awhile, but at least I'll still enjoy. I'm also iffy about watching the funimation dub since I'm so used to the FKids dub. I'll give it a chance though cause I did like One Piece.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it more expensive to procure the airing rights to multiple 12- or 24-episode anime than the cost of one long-running, internationally-popular (read: safe) series?

Including what it costs to gain the rights to yet another show after the 12- or 24-episode anime runs its length and suddenly no one wants to see the rerun, complaining about how they need to "update"...

Anyway, yeah, Toonami is doing amazingly well since its return.

With all this news, I wouldn't be surprised if a schedule expansion of some sort gets announced too. Maybe giving them the whole night on Saturdays, or a small weeknight expansion to give more airtime to those long running shonen series. Either way I get the feeling that this isn't the end of the announcements.

Why not have two episodes of Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece and then repeat? If that works best... I agree with the others, they really do need more hours to push the WSJ earlier and still have shorter anime for other tastes.
