It kinda saddens me how the Master System is forgotten. People seem to think the NES was the only system back then, but the Master System had a nice slice of the pie too which helped the Genesis get off the ground in the next gen. According to Wiki, Master System is actually the 2nd best selling Sega system, selling more than Dreamcast, Game Gear and Saturn.

Forgotten in the US. Master System was fairly popular in Japan, and outsold the NES in Europe.

^ The Sega Master System was also real popular in South America. They still made original Master System games in Brazil until 1997.
