Shinichiro Watanabe's series to be available digitally for 1st time

They've had episodes on rotation streaming at AdultSwim.com for years.

So wait, are they streaming the dub or sub? Because Cowboy Bebop without the dub is like cake without frosting.

Sure, it's nice and all without it, but it's SOOOOO much better with it.

Did they mention anything about regional availability? Like, will this be one of the few truly worldwide Daisuki releases or will it be US-only like usual? I'm also interested in the dub thing since I know it's important for Americans, but I can't watch anime in English for the life of me. Asking for an option to be able to choose between dub and sub sounds a bit far-fetched for this project, so I really want to know since CB has been on my to-watch list for ages

Yup, still watching on Toonami almost every week after all these years. Very Happy

Totally agree and good question. The Lupin the 3rd is the cool, fun dub that got on AS so it'll be interesting to see.

I guess I'll be waiting a bit more before I can see the show.

What, do you suffer from some sort of disability that prevents you from hearing anything spoken in the English language? Confused

Trust me, even among the most hardcore of subtitle elitists, the Cowboy Bebop dub is one of the few that everyone - and I mean EVERYONE - is in agreement over. Even Watanabe himself prefers it over the original Japanese.

From Daisuki, it's probably the sub.

And obviously the Cowboy Bebop dub is great. I wonder why Daisuki would announce this now if they aren't going to put it up until 2014?

How have people not seen Bebop by now. It boggles the mind.

Please note the difference between "anime in English" and "anything in English". I've tried to watch a handful of English dubbed anime, but it's impossible. There's something about the speech, vocalization and pronunciation that I just can't stand. I have no problem watching English series or movies -I actually prefer them over Spanish dubbed- but watching cartoons speaking in English always throws me off -heck, even Justice League bugged me.

Then why are they on this site? Bebop's a great show, but it's basically the next thing people move to after they grow out of Naruto and DBZ.

And it's been running for a decade on TV.

I haven't watched Bebop yet - but I have the part 1 Blu-Ray waiting for me at home. I watched Eva for the first time this year even though I have been watching anime for around 6/7 years.

I guess these things happen.

Yeah, guess so. I've never seen all of FMA more than a few episodes here and there, but I also have no real interest in trying out for the series for the time being, or its remake, or the several movies.

He's never once said this. Ever.

I wish people would stop f***ing spreading that. It's almost as bad as "Akira Toriyama wanted to end DBZ with Freeza".

I was at BAAF in 2002 when Watanabe supposedly said such a thing and he said no such thing and there is zero evidence of that. ZERO.

The English dub is amazing, yes, but the director has not once expressed a preference for it.

The Japanese version, by the way, has super talents like Megumi Hayashibara, Koichi Yamadera, and Norio Wakamoto.
