how does the .hack series follow in order? Question

The series take place in this order:

.hack//SIGN
.hack//liminality (concurrent with the video game storyline)
.hack//udeden

If you do play games with the OVAs, it's best to watch the OVA after you beat the games. It'll make more sense.

Actually, watch the OVA (hints to the game are present in the OVA which are hard to find unless you listen to the dialague closely), play the game, and then watch the OVA again to have it make more sense.

I'll take Vol 3 spoiler[It was revlived in the game, that CC Corp is planning on destoring the servers to stop the virus. It was also in the OVA, but they start to plan on how to stop that from happening, which happens in OVA 4.] You can always go back in to the game (The same disc though.) and get what you missing and use those well hide keywords to get weapons and tradeable items.

The 27th and 28th episode of .hack//sign will come out with volume 6.(last vol)

acctually if you watch with one of the subtitle selections on there are hidden keywords in each of the OVA's. Problem is they flash by really fast so you have to be ready to pause when needed
