Not surprising at all, the first movie was amazing. Can't wait to watch the sequel.

Considering that the movie's distributed by Warner Bros. in Japan and that WB also distributes for Viz in the U.S., I'm sure they're just waiting for all movies (however many they end up making) to finish their theatrical runs so they can just pay one lump sum for the entire franchise, as opposed to per film, since they seem to be really popular at the moment.
It would make so much sense for them to have both the manga and live-action movies and do some kind of tie-in or special releases for 'em. Hell, I'd even love for them to get the anime someday and use their manga translations for the subs.
