@MagusGuardian - There's a new Makai no Hana trailer, that hints that Kouga and Kaoru may show up at the end.

Seriously? I'm really looking forward to that, although I still wonder if they'll do a side series explaining what happened to them

I'm hoping we'll eventually get their story, but I'm certain I saw a shot of Kouga in the trailer. It could've been a flashback, but I couldn't tell.
Rei showing up a few episodes was the highlight of the series for me, though.
