I actually still have the original Nintendo Power volume. A surprisingly good interpretation of the game using unique characters and not trying to include everything. It's also funny how one of the characters looks like Cyborg 002

Wow, Viz hasn't licensed a new anime in a long time except Sailor Moon.

Whoah! Major nostalgia trip! I remember this being pretty darn good. Nice to see it getting back into print.

I remember reading this as it ran in Nintendo Power back in the early 90's.
Years later, I became a Kamen Rider fan. And then I find out very recently that Ishinomori made the LttP manga; approximately two decades after having read it. It's a weird, but warm, feeling when two separate interests years apart collide like that. (or at least, realizing the connection years later)

Watch as Viz uses an entirely new translation penned by someone who has never played a Zelda game in their lives. Estimated number of errors in the first volume alone: 12. Per page.

Actually the English version was the original; anything Japanese would be a translation

My best friend is both a huge Zelda and Shotaro Ishinomori fan... I can't wait to see her reaction to the news.

Also she's such a huge fan that when we went to Japan, we went to Shotaro Ishinomori Musiuim in Ishinomaki!

The original compiled volume was my BIBLE as a kid!! I have a nephew who just turned five and wants to get into Zelda, this will be a great gift, I'm so glad a new generation can drool over the imagery and excitement!

It's a manga.

I know, that's my point, they keep licensing only manga series.

Viz is mainly a manga company, with anime as a side-job.

Viz, I'm still waiting for the rest of Monster. Do it.

This looks good, and I hope that the rest of the Nintendo Power comics can get a release. I recall hearing that apparently one of the Mario comics in it was actually quite good.

Perfect Square? How many imprints does Viz have anyway?

Whooooooooa. That's radical. Nintendo Power was such a corner stone of my young life. These comics were some of the best.

Hopefully the Mario Adventures, Star Fox, and Super Metroid comics aren't far behind!
