Hope the YGO movie continues to improve. I think the promo cards get better each week so there's more incentive to go and watch the movie.

Dat Conan.
Movie 20 is definitely the one to beat the others before it in revenue and admissions.

I think there's no way Conan would lose their position until it's 10th week or so. Plus, it's a relevant movie. I do hope Yugioh would increase its position too.

It will have to defend its position this weekend against Civil War and local live-action Terra Formars which won't be a given. Conan movies also generally crash after Golden Week ends and May openers this year look pretty strong so there's no way it will stay 10 weeks on top. 5 weeks would already be great for it.

The "I am Hero" link redirects to the announcement of a spin-off, not the live-action adaptation.

#6? WTF? This is the best Yu-Gi-Oh! work ever. It can't open at #6.

I warned you last week that you would be disappointed. But you shouldn't be. It outperformed the previous movie which opened with ¥100,175,177, and with Golden Week it should have more longevity. Should finish around ¥500-600 million which isn't that bad for a movie franchise that's never really been popular in Japan.

^ My post ≠ my actual thoughts. I was merely hyping it up. It being #1 was extra for fun.
I admit I expected it to be in the top 3.

Nah, I can agree that most Conan movies crash after some weeks, but this is a Black Org movie. Unless, they air the two aforementioned movies in more cinemas, I doubt they will touch Conan's spot for quite a while.

When the Yu-Gi-Oh! movie gets a USA release, because of how many fans there are here, I think we could see a few million being earned. For an anime movie being released here, earning at least a few million is good.

Eh, it's really only for people who only like the first Yu-Gi-Oh series. Unlike Digimon Tri which was the nostalgia movie for a semi-dead franchise, Yu-Gi-Oh has had successful franchises and over 800 episodes currently with a lot of current fans. Younger viewers probably don't have much interest in it.
