I like the new dub! I’m just excited someone license rescued this great remake! Hopefully it will gain a larger audience this time around. Looking forward to episodes 2-3 next Wednesday!

The company hasn't yet announced in which territories the anime is available, or when it will add more episodes of the series.

Definitely not in Germany, I have tested already

Not available in Australia either. Maybe Madman's AnimeLab will pick the sub up for those fans who didn't or couldn't buy the Japanese Blu-Rays.

As of when I checked last night, the media restriction tag shows it available only to the US & territories and Canada, which matches what CR announced 10 hours ago:

As many of you may already be aware, we have several additional simulcasts airing this season, and are also happy to announce that Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199 will be joining the lineup this season with an episode launching every Wednesday at 1pm PT for members in the US and Canada!

If this does well will we see the classic version of Space Battleship Yamato?

Who knows? Watching this, however may very well determine how soon we get Yamato 2202, of which the Japanese release doesn't have subtitles.

Nice to see 2199 being streamed by Crunchyroll! If I didn't already have the Blurays of this I'd probably watch it!

I'd like to own that myself, but I'm not holding my breath for a new dub of the original.

Great news! Very Happy Another anime that I’ll be sure to watch during this Fall season. I’m a fan of Star Wars, so I may really like this as well. Also, since this is happening, I wonder if there will be ANN weekly reviews for this as the episodes become available legally. That would be something I would really like to happen.

This series brings back memories. I was only eight years old when the original series was broadcast in the United States in 1979. It was the first anime series I was introduced to as a kid. I really hope this series finds a new audience here in the states it deserves it.

Cool, I really hope they get 2202 as well. I'd watch the 2199 stream, but I have my BDs. A dub sounds interesting though. I love this series quite a lot.

I'm really glad to see Crunchyroll streaming the sub as it wasn't clear from the original press release Funimation put out if they only had the rights to stream the dub. I enjoyed episode one a lot and I'm looking forward to finally getting to watch this.
