Ok this this sounds kinda dope and could be especially handy for Polygon's parent companies (King Records and Kondansha) since both are deep in the anime realm

I would hope so. But I'm guessing not. It's most likely what they're currently doing already.
What Arcsys has done is uses some serious in-house tech and modeling techniques outside of UE combined with traditional animation to achieve that look in their games.
