I've been waiting for this, I wonder how interesting the stories will be, and how the different authors will handle the storytelling through the vignettes. It has become quite apparent to me that the stories do not flow well for western comics, they clutter the pages with text, and the action isn't well paced from vignette to vignette, but they will probably be under the supervision of Japanese editors from Kodansha, so it's going to be interesting how much their abilities improve under, hopefully, good ones.
Deffinitely not expecting much from the designs though, if the sample displayed is something to go by. |

If that is a representation of the art.. then I'll pass.
This looks like the Robotech Comic that is out now.. calling it a dumpster fire.. and I apologize to dumpsters.. lol |

They should have had Shirow do the cover art. Lost sales right there.
Hard to find anything new from Shirow lately. |

>GitS not drawn by Shirow Masamune and instead by generic American comic book artists
Into the trash it goes... |

Not only are the preview images repulsive, I doubt any of these writers can balance police drama, politics, technobabble and philosophy even remotely as good as Shirow did in the first Ghost in the Shell manga.

I understand the skepticism, but I hope you'll keep an open mind as we show more pages in the coming months. Everyone on the book is a professional at the top of their game and is a real fan of GitS. With Shirow-sensei's support, I think the franchise has great potential to grow.

The stories sound very intriguing to me. Although, I thought Stand Alone Complex was the best version of GitS, so take that as you will.

I'm really excited to read the Brenden Fletcher story. Looking up LRNZ and seeing his work on Golem, this should end up looking fantastic. I'm not sure about the other three stories but it doesn't matter. I'll be getting this anyway. More Ghost in the Shell is always something to be excited about, as long as the quality control is high (and it usually is).
Which continuity are these stories fitting into? Or do they have enough leeway to be standalone? |

LRNZ is a master, and Brenden gave him a real mind-blowing story to sink his teeth into. I hope you like it.
They are based on the manga continuity, and the settings and timing vary depending on the story. That said, there are some allusions to other incarnations of GitS. |
