Giving how this series is afraid to admit it is stupid/trashy and how acid-tripped it seems, I would not be surprised if the manga-ka was high when he came up with the idea.

I think that the fact there are people who still use Yahoo is a bigger story than Pop Team Epic being the most searched anime on it.

I'm not that surprised. Geocities is still a thing in Japan and Yahoo regularly makes parody appearances in anime as "Yohoo" etc. Japan seems to have more nostalgia for Yahoo. I'm more curious about what this book is about.

It's about a wife discussing her relationship with her husband who has erectile dysfunction/impotence. The book was a big seller in Japan this year and there's a manga adaptation now as well.
