I imagine that they are going to have to be careful if they do because a quite a few of the r18 ero doujins feature Loli and Shota. Isn’t that illegal in Australia and other countries without free speech protections?

Don't see why they would. It's a Japanese event and doujinshi creators generally don't like foreigners reading their work.

People already promoting their r18 works on Twitter even before covid and cancellations.
