I'm guessing as to the reasons, but: it's a lot more japanese than you might notice; it's straight-up manzai, for one, but the whole butler/ojousama thing is also pretty japanese these days too. Other things as well. But because it's not surface-exotic people won't go into it expecting something embedded in a foreign culture. And beyond that it's also embedded in some old-school western SF context that these days is nearly as exotic as the japanese stuff. And it's very dense and nasty to translate just on the surface.
And for all that, you get... a couple of hours of content, total? A product that niche becomes a hard sell, even if it's free.
