I saw this on twitter the other day, pretty appalling. I wonder who noticed first and how? It seems someone noticed and tipped the artist off but they must have really sharp eyes, holy cow.

Too bad it's plagiarized because that is an absolutely baller poster.

And sharp memory as well. You'd need that to trigger "I swear I've seen those clouds on another poster somewhere before!" suspicion.

I mean, the entire composition of the clouds with a lunar eclipse in black and white is pretty distinct. It goes beyond just the copy pasted clouds.
Was this poster produced before our new AI art phase? Shoulda just gone that route is you were too lazy and going to steal a prominent artists stuff! Especially cloud formations.

Yeah, it's super obviously copy-and-pasted when you see them next to each other, but to remember that the composition/clouds were from Nico specifically must mean whoever noticed is a big fan, since the Where the Wild Things Are poster was published all the way back in 2014.

At first I thought it was ridiculous--probably coincidental--,but upon closer look it really does check out. Which brings me to, of all the things they are going to exactly copy, why clouds?! Is it THAT hard for an artist to draw curved lines to compose CLOUDS?!

Not if someone had looked at the original poster and went "Wow, I want those clouds!".

that's the thing with ai, it takes actual effort to get the thing you want.

Stop blaming ai because it might have nothing to do here
