You know what, over-correcting brands like that can easily be a bad move so I'll give them credit for not changing things too much, but I definitely wouldn't have even noticed the change otherwise.

Aside from the logo “changes”, can anyone else change their password on Crunchyroll? I’ve been trying for a week and it won’t let me do that.

Oh I didn't say they were, I'm saying Sony is getting rid of the site anime fans once loved

Even the ones that have complained about issues that have existed with the platform since before Sony bought them?

Edit: beaten to the punch

The problem is you can do all that and more will simply rise up and take their place so you’re not really fixing the problem that way.

Human stupidity and pettiness is a consequence of free will sadly.

And modding comments on a streaming service is just a bad news window.
The new logo is of this moment so its ok but boring.

Hey CR, can you change the fonts on your subtitles instead?

This is what I thought the announcement was until I actually checked.

This! I thought the logo was, you know, a roll. Possibly a crunchy one.

Yeah, I did a doubletake on that. I thought it was a stylized version of their old original logo (which was, indeed, a crunchyroll sushi slice)
But I guess they retconned that into just being an I.

I'm sure that Sony fought hard to totally rename the service at one point and they were thankfully talked out of it by marketing or something.

It's intended to be both, depending on how you look at it it's either an eye or a slice of sushi. But with the new logo they made the center part bigger and the white space in between smaller so now it's either a sushi roll that's short on rice or an overly large iris.

Crunchimation? Funiroll? Wink Nah, this is Sony, I bet they would have wanted to merge it with and rename it to Aniplex.

The change is not massive but it's fitting. It's more soulless and corporate, just like the site itself
