Oh you poor sweet summer child.... Glad you liked it! I think Hjime no Ippo is my favorite Sports Manga/Anime and trust me I've looked pretty hard. It just has this "realism" to it that does it for me. At least when it comes to the dated humor, it's not REALLY creepy like a lot of other stuff from that era. Still, dated humor is dated (I still crack up when Ippo hits himself in the crotch over and over again however)

I’m still mad that Netflix’s promised next two seasons got delayed.
But yeah, this stuff just zips by because of how well done it is, and how tense and action packed the fights are.

Ah man that really sucks. Are we getting the movie/special? That one's much harder to come by.

It's a fun series but after watching Ashita no Joe, I wondered if somebody was gonna kick the bucket. Slam Dunk was another sport series I love and its climax made heavy emphasis on a wound Sakuragi has rather than embracing victory.
