This was one of my two most anticipated anime this season, as the manga is one of my favorite current reads. The manga, while dark (sometimes bordering on cruel), hits all those sweet spots, humor wise (for me, at least). It also keeps dropping small hints to a bigger story behind all the SOL murder.
And I'm pretty damn happy with the adaptation so far. Voice work is spot on for what I had running in my head while reading it. And it does look really good, especially since the manga can sometimes be a little "rough" artwork wise.
Hope the anime keeps it going. Thursday is this season's go to day for me.

Ahhh that's where the hidamari sketch flavor is coming from.

I thought this season would be a dud for me especially in terms of catchy OPs and EDs, then I saw this anime in the review listings. I checked it out and watched both released episodes back to back. It has my kind of humour and the OP and ED are quite catchy too. Now I don't only have Slime max level to watch this season which I'm only watching because I've read the novels and the lead is Aoi Yuki. Now I can look forward to watching Crunchyroll every week.

I gotta admit, I didn't realize the place Satoko was dumping the bodies was "that pool" until it was pointed out to me, but man that is some sly dark humor! Heck, it's kind of amazing this hits some pathos on how insignificant Arisa became after her death. Surprisingly good stuff so far.

| Quote: | | We see how being truthful basically blacklists Satoko from every job—even jobs where her cooking and cleaning skills would make her overly-qualified, if anything. |
I mean, she's not being turned down because she's underqualified or anything like that, she's being turned down because she's literally below the legal age to work. The work place are doing the right thing by turning her down. I'm not sure there's much social commentary to be had there, unless the showrunner are trying to comment on how bad it is that child labor was outlaw, the children yearn for the mind and all...

Satoko ending up doing the same job, but worse, was a good gag.
I didn't really find the ending to be a bit of dark humor (which I can enjoy, like Zetsubou Sensei), but more just dark/morbid/depressing =/
I don't know, something about this show has just felt off since she first casually turned someone to leaves without a second thought.
I think I'll keep watching for now, but I'm not really sure if it's landing with me.

Well, they are ninjas and assassins, death is their product. They wouldn't be very good at their jobs if they were squeamish or too mournful.
Though I did feel that, like you did at the end of the show.

I think I'll keep watching for now, but I'm not really sure if it's landing with me. | Most of those we have seen getting the leaf treatment are ninja assassins trying to kill her (besides the few random assassinations we know nothing about). It kinda comes with the territory and they definitely are not good people despite what their personalities may be outside of their assassination gigs. I guess for that reason I haven't really felt depressed or bad for them. Also its pretty obvious the main characters are not good people so it makes sense they would be casual about it. I know nothing of the source but if I had to guess its probably only going to get darker from here.
Also I too did not find the ending to be humorous and honestly did not know it was supposed to be. I thought they were just trying to make us feel bad for the ninja getting killed. Which I thought was weird since we barley knew the character and back to my previous statement of them being a bad guy.
On a different note this is definitely my favorite of the season.

I found this weeks episode a bit better, so guess this stays another week lol
"You can do better Yuri!"

The ninja who was collecting everyone mentioned that there was at least one or more people in the village who could bring people back to life.
Since I don't think of preparing potatoes that way it definitely took me a second for it to click when I saw the full bag of potatoes and the showed those evil vibes coming off of them lol

Experts say AI will replace humans, and poor Satoko learned that the hard way, getting NTRed even in the ED.

The Episode is the best I've seen of all the anime I've been watching. The equivalent of that "tTo A Kinder World" / Acro Silky 7th episode of Dandadan, or "Hinokami", the 19th Episode of Demon Slayer.

Great episode, but would have been better if it wasn't spoiled by the opening...
Wonder if Marin will just make a new Roboko?

The ED is so cheery and upbeat, but it takes care to, uh, update each episode with the status of the ninja pursuers. The second screenful is starting to disappear now.
