Square-Enix when a game underperforms: We need to make a sequel! AND WITH A BIGGER BUDGET! Don't forget platform exclusivity! People LOVE that!
Capcom when a game overperforms: .....Ehhhhhh... We still have that one Chinese mobile game, right? Meh. We're good!

Meanwhile Shankar's been making a fool out of himself on Twitter over the news.

He shouldn't, because his show wound up doing exactly what it was supposed to: make people more interested in the real DmC.

Strange I don’t recall Deus Ex Mankind Divided getting a sequel. Also not sure about that swipe at FF7 Remake it sold better than Rebirth yes Remake was hurt in part by being on less platforms than Remake was.

Oh word people are interested in the reboot from Ninja Theory so we’re finally going to get a sequel to that?

Why wouldn't Adi Shankar, creator of Devil May Cry, be happy over this news?

I continue to wonder if Capcom decided Devil May Cry 5 was the end of the series and just didn't tell anyone. Considering how well received it was, it's hard to believe there isn't enough internal interest at the company to have done something with it in years.
