This wasn’t one of the shows I expected to get a second season.

From what I understand it’s one of those stories where the main character is oblivious to how OP he is. So I suppose it depends on your tolerance for stories with one joke they insist on hammering into the ground.

I have actually watched season 1. Aside from the main character the story has potential to be interesting, and the two female leads are intriguing.

The main thing going for this series is the realism of the combat, they use real European sword fighting techniques rather than just swinging a European sword like its a Katana.

No. The first and last episodes were good, but the middle ones are an increasing slog due to the show having literally only one increasingly unbelievable and unfunny joke. The segment with the horrifically cliche slasher was the absolute nadir, with even the production values slipping to match the lack of quality of the plot.

I'm happy to watch the further adventures of Noor. He's a big ol' St. Bernard of a fellow, and he was my comfort food anime that season. It's just nice to follow a genuinely nice guy now and then, OP or not.

Yes, Noor is unaware of how OP he is at parrying (and only parrying), but he's had nothing to compare himself to, and he washed out of every training academy, so it's reasonable he'd see himself as lacking. And he's not so globally clueless about everything else as the MCs in Last Dungeon Boonies or Unaware Atelier. So whether it's worth watching depends on what you want to get out of it.

he would be aware if he just stopped to listen to people telling him he's not normal. Or put in any actual thought into why Lynne insists on being his student.

I'll never understand the hate for oblivious protagonists. I love them.

Between I Parry Everything, Ossan Newbie Adventurer (which came out the same summer 24 season) and the more recent Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman (or how I inadvertently groomed a gaggle of little girls to become my future harem) that all have similar tropes I tend to prefer I Parry... not that it was great, but it was fun enough whereas I found myself bored with the other or similar shows. Plus it had great episode titles like "I parried a cow". As others have pointed out tho your enjoyment may depend on your tolerance of OP characters and their unawareness of their power. Did I need a second season? Not really but I'd give it a shot out of curiosity and maybe it would be fun enough again.

Sure and some would prefer Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman to the other two. It just depends on where people's personal tastes and tolerances land.

I think you're confusing this with "Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman"

I'll still check it out, but between the two from that season I'd also go for Ossan.
