I will avoid spoiling anything, but the connection to the video game is pretty obvious near the beginning of the game. We know what happened in that "gap" and, as such, it is very unlikely they will show us. The short itself gives us everything we needed to know.

Funny how they got Kana Ichinose credited when she just kind of...grunts. But then again I never would have expected Yuichi Nakamura as Deputymon until he digivolved into Justmon.
Really cool short though! And Beatbreak seems pretty great so far.
