Mainly remember the numerous openings for the old series, a bunch of them being all-time greats of the time period like "Kashiko" and "Toki no Kawa wo Koete". Will take a lot for this show to match that

It’s always nice to see an older series revived for new audiences, but the fact that this is the director’s first anime doesn’t fill me with confidence.

I can't believe Noitamina is still doing old school shonen remakes. This is not even mentioning the future seasons of Kenshin which I admittedly look forward to.
I just want more seinen/josei shows and original properties like how they used to be.

The "Animation Director" listed in this article is written as アニメーションディレクター on the anime's website which I assume means that person will be supporting the director, so I wouldn't be too concerned.

TBH, it makes sense; Noitamina’s audience is probably the right age to be nostalgic for 80s/90s adaptations.

Not the same animation studio as the Urusei Yatsura reboot, but the visual style in that trailer definitely looks to be imitating the new UY, visually, as strongly as possible.
Interesting to see Kimengumi brought back, too, since it's following the recent theme of iconic Jump manga from the 80s getting new anime adaptations, after Captain Tsubasa, Cat's Eye, Fist of the North Star, City Hunter, Bastard!!, & Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai (though, to be fair, Dai debuted in late 1989, so maybe that one doesn't quite count). Makes me wonder what else from that era of Shonen Jump will be next to get the modern anime treatment...
Black Angels? (probably not)
Wingman? (actually... yeah, I could see that one happen)
Kimagure Orange Road? (maybe?)
Moeru! Onii-san? (only if Kimengumi wasn't already happening, I'd say)
Jungle King Tar-chan or Shape Up Ran? (probably not)
Fuma no Kojirou or Otoko Zaka? (yeah... right)
I would say maybe Stop!! Hibari-kun!... but not now.

It recently got a live-action adaptation, and considering they've been doing the same to Katsura's other works over the last few years I think that's where they consider his work more suited than another anime adaptation (that might go as poorly as Zetman)

Unfortunately, original anime is still not subbed in entirety.

REMOW is releasing about 8 episodes a week on YouTube and are around half-way through it. They should be done by the end of November. However, it is region locked to the USA.

Feels like we're living in the era of anime remakes.

A remake of Moeru! Onii-san could be on the table, even with Kimengumi happening, since it's a different series from a different creator.
