My gut feeling is telling me that the original movie will feature a character we want to see again. One who began a new life at the end of season 2, perhaps?

Hopefully the movie doesn't drop in writing quality.

/happy dance.
Love these dorks.
And if the series maintains it's pacing we might get our introduction to another of my favourite characters, though she doesn't really come into her own until later, I imagine the production crew will have a lot of fun with her.
Always a bit split on fully original side story movies. Nothing important can happen in them because they can't change canon. But more stories featuring characters you like is a good thing, right?

I've thought before that I'd love to see a prequel movie about Ah-Duo's childhood and adolescence.
Bit sad about S3 finally moving to split-cour, but eh, schedules are what they are.

Scum of the Brave & Last Boss Queen are most likely keeping OLM busy so they wouldn't risk trying for ~24 episodes uninterrupted. A 3 month break is fairly quick, between seasons/parts. I'm just happy we getting more.
OLM does have different teams within the company but I can't remember who specifically is credited with working on the series, I'm guessing it's a few of them since it's such a big project.

Like it is written by the original LN author.
I get sometimes this filler movies feel really meh, but Natsu Hyuuga actually can write unlike some guys I would rather not mention.

Not sure who you're thinking of… does Chue-san appear in LN5-6? That's the first character who comes to mind, but I thought she didn't debut until LN9.

Not sure it'd still be "Apothecary Diaries" at that point, but I'm onboard with this. It's only really been hinted at in the anime, but the dynamic of Ah-Duo, the emperor and Gaoshun and troublemaking teenagers would be good material. Ah-Duo is great, and the emperor has a wicked dry sense of humour when you get to see behind the mask. I see long suffering Gaoshun being perpetually exasperated with the pair of them.

Great. I am glad the cours will be split because I thought season 2 had some pacing issues.

Each of those shows are being done by different teams, with each team mostly having distinct staff. Apothecary Diaries just has one team, the Sumitomo production line.

Hmm, you could be right. I though there was an earlier somewhat background introduction, but I could be miss-remembering. Just have to wait a couple more seasons for my second favourite gremlin to be animated then.

The author being involved doesn't guarantee that it will be well written, that's why I said hopefully. A decent amount of the time the pacing is rushed or the main issue seems forced when it comes to these filler movies, so will just have to wait and see.

I wonder whether they’ll combine the 2 western arcs. Because that background of grain suggests they are.
