Honestly, this should have been Netflix season 1 to understand more the cast assisting Kudo against the Black Organization. Probably one of the best cases was when the darkskinned detective tried solving a case only to have Kudo correct it and reveal the actual truth. It really felt Danganronpa and Ace Attorney were influenced by these types of cases

Until ANN updates, don't forget about the contest and more Conan movies. https://bsky.app/profile/tmsanime.com/post/3m5yq5v5slu2f

If they'd laid Heiji's dub accent on thick then the joke wouldn't work in the second Heiji story in the collection where

spoiler[Conan sedates him and lays on a caricaturish "Osakan" (or in this case Brooklyn?) accent to impersonate him, which Heiji overhears and later mocks him for.]

This selection was a really good batch of episodes, even if they're all from early on and had been dubbed before, lol. The new dub continues to be great!

If this collection gets a "part 2" as well, I'm very curious to see which episodes get selected for the next batch!

BTW, for old-time English dub Conan fans like me, who else felt how magical it was to finally see episodes 43, 48, and 49 in English but with the proper Opening and Ending after all these years? Anime smile

Not even the Bang Zoom movie dub really gave Heiji or any of the other Osaka characters accents.

The Black Organization episodes were nice and all, but this is the true spice of Detective Conan.

Glad that Bolts get it. I often saw people dismissing the non-Black Organization (BO) episodes as filler, but I personally disagree. I feel like the heart and soul of this show is the creative mystery. After all, when Aoyama first created this show, he wanted to be able to create honkaku (golden-age style) detective manga. It is clear that Aoyama really loves detective novels, evident by him introducing a new detective series recommendation in every manga volume. Some of the most creative cases he wrote are found in the non-BO stories (e.g. Tengu murder case, Spider manor case, Arcade murder case, Furinkazan serial murder). Of course the BO stories are exciting as well, but as a mystery fan, I also enjoyed trying to figure out all those creative mysteries. Detective Conan (Case Closed), Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo, and Q.E.D. shoumei shuuryou, those are imo the big three of detective manga, both in terms of quality and longetivity (all had 80+ volumes each).
