Yeah, I heard about this on social media earlier just prior to this ANN article/report. I don't know what else to say.

Highly unlikely. I've bought Dark Horse manga and comics since the late 1990s, during that time they have dropped a number of manga series. When they do, they never comment, never explain and as far as I can tell seldom bring them back. |

Yeah, that's a good way to put it. Also in other news: Dark Horse just added The Art of Octopath Traveler: 2020-2023 Artbook in their catalog, I know it's not a manga but I hope observers who monitor Dark Horse's manga release can keep an eye out on how they move under this new leadership. |

Licenseses are generally non-transferrable and royalty advances are non-refundable. Good news though, they also expire. Standard term in publishing industry is ~10 years for print rights, so if it's been 10 years since their last publication, it's likely the license has lapsed and is back with the rights holders. |
