Yeah, I heard about this on social media earlier just prior to this ANN article/report. I don't know what else to say.

Highly unlikely. I've bought Dark Horse manga and comics since the late 1990s, during that time they have dropped a number of manga series. When they do, they never comment, never explain and as far as I can tell seldom bring them back.

Yeah, that's a good way to put it.

Also in other news: Dark Horse just added The Art of Octopath Traveler: 2020-2023 Artbook in their catalog, I know it's not a manga but I hope observers who monitor Dark Horse's manga release can keep an eye out on how they move under this new leadership.

Licenseses are generally non-transferrable and royalty advances are non-refundable. Good news though, they also expire. Standard term in publishing industry is ~10 years for print rights, so if it's been 10 years since their last publication, it's likely the license has lapsed and is back with the rights holders.

Dengeki Comics was the publisher for the manga in Japan.
