Huh, interesting. With the news of his latest Saint Seiya manga coming out of hiatus, I was wondering if the author would ever go back to original stuff again.
I've long wanted to read the original Shadow Skill manga. I seem to recall fan efforts at it faltering due to it apparently being difficult to translate for whatever reason.

I would love a new series, especially if it grows awareness of the original manga. I lost hope for an official English translation.

While I don't know exact details, the original volume numbering was somewhat obtuse. One fan translation briefly started translating around volume 5. Still, I'm surprised the series is not more popular.

It simply comes down to the fact that Shadow Skill had three different runs, and the first run in had two different re-releases (one by Takeshobo & one by Kadokawa Shoten), while the final publisher (Kodansha) not only released what it had serialized (which was 11 volumes) but also re-released everything that come out during the first two runs (which were released across three books).
To keep it simple, just go off of the Kodansha releases, which total 14 volumes.

I remember being interested in this after seeing glimpses of the anime way back in the 2000s. But when I read the manga, I found the art and panelling to be a bit overwhelming.
This series sure has its fans though.
