Shame that this Sakurai scumbag is still getting work, ngl. I know what he did technically wasn't illegal, but it was still immoral in every way. :/

I'm glad this got a 2nd season. As we have seen with other shows, this one took way too long to do its world building. I've read a bit of the WN and it was also very slow at the beginning. With 858 episodes and growing, there is plenty of material to draw from.

I enjoyed the show. I felt like the main character wasn't just grinding to raise his level on his stat screen, he was gradually getting experience to raise his level as a human being without even realizing it, and seeing him build some real (not Journal With Witch real, but still realized) relationships and responsibilities was pretty cool. Even though he's approaching the world as a game, he's not treating the people like NPCs.

I just did some grammar edits by the way.

Alan's summon system was fairly interesting. He can't have his summons kill other monsters and add them to his army in a never ending power loop like a necromancer to become an instant badass, which I like. The summons are cute, average shounen designs instead of well illustrated, but they aren't CG either, and they're kind of interesting Instead of a fire breathing dragonette, he finally upgrades to a butterfly that can spread sleepy dust for example. Instead of a fierce eagle, he gets non combat birds that he can use as drones.

The animation was average, and as someone mentioned, the world building wasn't particularly deep, but it didn't just march through the tropes fitting slot A into Slot B the way garbage Isekai do. Here's the big busted battle maniac. Here's the loyal loli. Here's the tsundere rival. Join the guild, check. Blow up the measuring stone, check. Have the bully adventurer attack you so you can use him to establish your cobblestone street cred. Check.

Long winded way of saying I appreciated this show for what it was.
