I really do enjoy Chapter 5 more so than any chapters of 3199 for the most part. It was a breath of fresh air. Great battles, not relying on Tsubasa and Maxim’s daughter. Yamato, Garmillas and Bolars teamed up together against the Dezariums. The Yamato had clones(correct me the mistake) and they fusion together to make the Yamato ship more powerful like a super saiyan! That was awesome! I do think the Garmillas will come back later on in the season but we don’t know when but I predict that they‘ll return. Now, they time traveled to 2026(current present year) and that’s just mind blowing. It gives me a pure imagination of wishing for it to actually happens and praise the ship like theirs no tomorrow! HELL YEAH!!!
Now here’s my negatives that pissed me off about chapter 5. The first negative I’m going to point out is how long it took for chapter 5 to be released. It took almost exactly 3 weeks to get it on Crunchyroll while chapter 1-3 took a few days and 4 exactly a week. I remember some of us were expecting 4 weeks after the release but thanks to the ritual(meme) we got it lol. Now here’s the most predictable negative when it comes from me. Now here it comes, you know what i’m going to criticize…. you guessed it, it‘s none other then Akira Yamamoto’s screen time. Now I can definitely understand why she has been relegated from one of the main characters to a minor character ever since 2205(took me a while to understand) but man, she got EVEN less screen time than before. Didn’t appeared in episode 17 and 18. That’s 5 episodes altogether in 3199 that she didn’t appeared. Her co pilots got even more screen time and even Hiroki as well. We only see her and Melda for like a few seconds and never succeed with each other. We did get to see her and Sasha standing right by each other in one of the episodes which is pretty cool in my opinion. The only time I think we will ever see Akira communicate with Sasha was the part where Akira told and grab her to get back from the pilot without a helmet. Like I said, I completely understand why my favorite character has less screen time and it’s for the best but they could’ve at least put a little bit more effort on Akira as the captain of the pilots and made at least one scene with her and Sasha talk with each other for a little bit. Now chapter 6 is coming, Kato’s son, Makoto, Maxim’s daughter and Maxim are probably going back at doing more screen time. Dezariums have brainwashed the Yamato crew. It’ll probably be the last time Akira and Sasha will ever see each other before that happens since Sasha‘s fate is uncertain but predictable. I’m still going to stop going all out like before and relax since I understand. All I’m going to say is from a fan of Akira’s stand point, I’m just disappointed with the screen time she had and the fact that we never have a scene with her and Sasha talking. Literally almost 99 percent of characters ever since 2205 have more screen time than Akira ever does. If Saki Todo and her Ginga ship comes back from the trial and Kaoru Niimi comes back(which I doubt she will), it’ll be 100 percent! Like seriously this is ridiculous! If they want to justify it, they need to make a Akira spin off either during the events of 3199 or after. I know the anime industry is a lot more complicated but if they can’t afford it and I know their box office isn’t as much as they did during even the 2202 era which I think it’s part of that reason why it was release late on Crunchyroll, I wish they can find another company that can able to afford one or even have someone make a manga about Akira’s perspective during 3199 like in 2199 spin off manga. I don’t care, she needs justice. Of anything it’ll make more sense for Akira having a spin off during 2202, 2205 and 3199 than in 2199 since she had A lot more screen time during 2199. I just hope that happens but it’s completely unlikely at this point. 3199 doesn’t really feel like Yamato. It feels more like the future of Haruhi Suzumiya or any other slice of life anime(with Tsubasa and Maxim’s Daughter that was shoved down our throats for the most part), mix with Bully the video game by rockstar( with young members like Domon and Takeshi are fighting and even Alphon and Isle fought in chapter 5) but with Yamato. That’s all I’m going to say. I do enjoy chapter 5 but I didn’t like what the amount of screen time Akira had. I think chapter 6 will be even worse for Akira’s screen time. |

It sure would be nice if there was a licensor that cared enough to dub and put out on Blu-Ray all of the post-2202 entries in the remake franchise. Alas, there isn't one.

Great to see it's still doing well. Is the next film the last film? I've been holding off until I can watch everything.
Maybe once this is completed we might get a complete release? But I suppose 2205 still doesn't have a release either =/ It doesn't look like 2205 even got a BD release with english subs outside of NA (like from AllTheAnime), so maybe it's a licensing thing... |

The mysticism isn't silly in the narrative of the series, you can directly trace it to 2199 as its very climax, from the revelations given by Yurisha to Yuki on Iscandar, through Starsha detailing the way the Cosmo Reverse works by channeling the will of a planet's people, to the way Mamoru sacrifices himself for Yuki's sake and Okita becomes the fulcrum for the regeneration of the Earth. It's been there all along, or did it seem less "silly" to you that some machine could do the same?

Odyssey of the Celestial Ark, if you can find the JP release, is available with English subs. That might be the reason why it's not available. Still hoping CR promotes it IF they decide to continue the dub of the series and release it on Home video. I Would have expected them to at least have dubbed 2205 by now, with only 8 episodes left of Rebel 3199 there's no excuse not to start dubbing The rest of the series as they should be able to schedule it. If they aren't they should let Sentai handle the Disc / Dub release
