Thank you person who leaked the production schedule that included the Fall 2026 release of 2nd Stage (along with the rest of the cours) and them wanting to release it in batches. You contributed to them getting scared of all the people mad at them, forcing them to change while pretending it was the plan all along

That's a nice argument, senator, but why don't you back it up with a source? (That Netflix changed it, that is.)

I already pointed to the source that outlined the entire schedule up through 2028 and said it would be in batches (remember kids, reading is fundamental). Feel free to come back to this when 2nd Stage releases in September and is 11 episodes long

Pretty sure they're referring to a link to said source cause as far as the other commenter is concerned you're just making stuff up.

My guess that the rest of the season simply wasn’t ready (because animating horses is hard) was on point, but everyone involved could have saved themselves a lot of grief if they just said this immediately after the first episode.

FALL 2026???? They really expect us to believe the plan was always to release episode one in March and then the rest at least SIX MONTHS LATER? If it's not done, then don't release any of it! Whoever thought this was a good idea should dragged into the street and shot.

Seriously, how hard would it have been to just tell everyone up front?

Yeah, the timing of it seems like they were aware that things were boiling over and needed to say something, rather than a planned announcement.

Netflix has handled things differently enough times that people couldn't assume one way or the other. Releasing it based around the stages of the race has a certain sense to it, but doing a double-length premiere followed by there be "more" sometime this year left people guessing if there were production issues.

It seems like we're getting something of a hybrid. It will still be based around stages of the race like a batch would be, but will then hit netflix as if it was a weekly series.

So what the hell was the point of putting out that pilot if it wasn't finished?

It was the complete, first arc of the story, covering the contents of the first omnibus manga volume. It's not a pilot. The only thing that was excluded are some character backstory details that are not important within that first arc (if ever).

This doesn't feel drastically different from any other split-cours release, aside from how slow they were to explain what the release schedule would be. It's just that the first part is a double length episode, instead of having something like that in the middle (see: JJK, Chainsaw Man, and Demon Slayer having canon movies).

All it takes is taking 2 seconds to google jojo steel ball run leaks and you'll immediately find multiple threads about it lol, feels weird to me to be tuned in enough to read this news but not enough to know about something that was the major talking point of the Jojo community only like a week or two ago
