Always a Catch! She focused her attentions on honing her martial arts prowess, while thoughts of marriage fell not in priority. But the arrival of a baby brother meant she's losing her role as the next heir. She's decided it's time to marry after all, but she may too late to find her herself a potential bachelor. Air Date & Platform: April 01, 2026 (Wednesday) Available on: Crunchyroll Episode Count / Runtime: Pending Trailer ---------------------------------- I don't usually watch trailers. But this one actually seems decently funny. Hopefully it gets a North American release. Last edited by Tony K. on Thu Apr 02, 2026 9:39 am; edited 1 time in total |

When I saw the golden knuckleduster I immediately knew what type of lady Maria would be. The end of the episode did not fully get around to it (gotta build things up after all) but I am sure that members of the Annovazzi family are not to be messed with. The episode was effective in setting up a noble environment with tons of rules and such, something I suspect Maria will deal with in her own way and I look forward to it. |

I like the concept fine - if I didn't, I wouldn't have watched May I Ask For One Final Thing? and enjoyed it all the way through - but Maria is so over the top earnest and clueless that I find her annoying as much as I find her endearing. I do feel bad for the best friend though, and It's entirely possible that there's a bit of a mood thing going on because I really got into a book yesterday and only watched the anime late at night when I was tired, so I'll give this anime the standard three.

I suspect that they are using double meanings for a "catch". In addition to Maria wanting an eligible catch, they are using the idea of a "however" that prevents the obvious from happing (as in Catch 22 or is that too old a reference?).

Seems to be getting some positive vibes but nothing here really excited me. Pretty by the numbers for this kind of fare at this point, and the comedy didn't really land for me. I may give it another episode at least.

A weird premise so far, so far it seems this is more about the best friend's love life, than our protagonist's love life, that is more of an after though.

So the protagonist achieved her goal in 2 episodes, series over right?

Given the preview for next week I would say that the challenges have only just begun. Maria may have her prince charming now but it comes with a lot of baggage. I am also sure that more baddies will pop up sooner or later. I appreciate that while Renato did not think his plans through he was trying to give everyone a happy ending. He was willing to give up the throne just so that his brother can be with the one he loves. |

Pretty relaxing low-stakes watch, appears to be a light fast food genre show, and that's OK as the basic setup seems to work. Some court scheming probably to be expected, and dangerous situations resolved by more of the Annovazzi counting song.

I hope the character that kidnap our protagonist is someone we keep coming back to from time to time. Every time we see her, she is in a lower station in life, I see prudential in a funny gag character.

It's not bad, but I'm still not really into it for whatever reason. Maybe it's the earnest puppy of a female lead or the way the prince went from 0 to 120 in one episode, plot reveals notwithstanding. Just don't feel any tension, sexual or otherwise.

Scratch the challenges having only just begun. Seems like it is going to be the type of show where the mc is such a unique/frank person that she will win everyone over. I prefer that over constantly having to deal with nasty nobles. Given the arrows and the smurky guy at the end there will be an opponent of some kind though. |

E3: things are maybe bad in the kingdom if the queen just narrowly escaped assassination while at their guarded castle, while apparently knowing who was behind it. Or maybe, she hired the assassins herself just as a test, but that would be weird.
I'm not really vibing with the romance aspect and sudden engagement here at all. In some sense it's maybe what she came looking for, but the prince's attraction to her just suddenly appeared out of the blue and he's a bit creepy, so yeah nah for this component of the show, one could have hoped they'd have had something better instead of this. |

At first I thought the queen's attitude was a test, and this whole thing was an act, did not expect an assignation attempt and for her to lose her mind. Okay.
Just me or is this Rosalia character just a cut and paste replacement for the girl that master minded Mimi's kidnapping and was thrown in jail at end of episode 2. I have seen series do that before, like Hana-Kimi they replaced the childhood manager character with the rival from the other school and kind of serves the same purpose. It is like they wanted the snobby bully character, whoops we throw her in jail, just created another character out of thin air. |

When the queen told her not to be so formal I figured that she is not as upset as she looks, and is probably just a frank person who comes across that way. Probably just a case of RBF. And then the queen started putting food on a plate, and I was pretty sure that this was the case, and isn't actually mean. The becoming super smitten thing was a bit more surprising.
Maybe somewhat the case, but there is a divide to how malicious things were with the previous mean girl, and I wouldn't say Rosalia was shown in a super negative light. I mean, I want to see more of Rosalia return, who has changed from trying to bully to more appreciating Mimi as a good character. Maybe a bit too hasty to make a statement, but I think that it has gone in a direction of "women supporting women" sort of thing, where it kind of veered away from female character tearing each other down. With a would be bully being beaten by not needing to criticise things like her femininity and such. And I think that similarly extends to the earlier possible drama of which girl friend is with what prince, and not needing that drama of who is the crown princess. Thinking of other media, I am reminded of Tiana and Lottie from Princess and the Frog, and maybe a similar thought to Parks and Rec. I don't think it is the same thing as just being nice or something, which I ended up so bored with The Villainess Is Adored by the Prince of the Neighbor Kingdom. |
