Of the 60 series in the Preview Guide, 39 failed to make the cut:

Almost two-thirds of the guide -- pretty brutal season.

Of these, the ones with the most members listed on MyAnimeList are:


  1. 170K -- Classroom of the Elite Season 4: Second Year, First Semester
  2. 166K -- That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4
  3. 122K -- The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 2
  4. 65K -- I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class
  5. 57K -- Farming Life in Another World 2


Of the series that did make the cut here, the least popular ones on MAL are:


  1. 13K -- Snowball Earth
  2. 14K -- A Hundred Scenes of AWAJIMA
  3. 25K -- MAO
  4. 25K -- Always a Catch!
  5. 38K -- Go For It, Nakamura-kun!!


A pretty typical divergence, but I admit I'm a little disappointed Gals Can't Be Kind to Otaku!? and I Made Friends with the Second Cutest Girl in My Class didn't make the cut. (Yes, I know the Japan-mandated official English title is "prettiest", but that feels misleading to me about the particular dynamic between Yuu, Umi, and their social environment.)

As always, once the Your Anime Rankings charts start, we'll be able to see what the second tier is, the shows that weren't popular enough to get reviews but still get enough votes to be scored on the charts.

I wasn't able to vote! Laughing But all of the shows in my list got in except Observation Log. Too bad, I was enjoying this more than the recent slew of villainess shows the last few seasons. Always a Catch was promising, but the 3rd episode IMO was such a downgrade Confused
