Just have a question. Why do you see some artist creating "adult" doujins or hentai out of nowhere? Look I'm not saying its bad in anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else notice that some artists you thought were only underground, all of a sudden you see their name at Borders? Like Cuvie and Oh Great. Some like the great Masamune Shirow is the oppsite. Is there a reason, or do they just need a break? Is it more common in Japan? I'm just shock, I like it, just suprise, I would have never thought, thats all. Anyone have any thoughts?...

Some of these artists like to give it a shot after they've been doing their line of manga for a time which may have been borderline all along. Other people who start out by writing dojinshi do so as to catch the attention of publishers and editors, because that is what really gets their attention at first. Hellsing's Hirano Kouta was also like that as well. He was virtually an unknown before Hellsing, but now his dojin works are in demand and rare, since there aren't a lot of them in the first place.

So it is not uncommon? I mean most authors tend to stay in their own area. Another question if you do not mind, how does doujinshi help get notice? Its not their work, Japan only lets it go because of free advertisement. And with the hentai, is that even credited? How can that jum-start to your own manga? Curive was just that in America and now has "Dorothea." I be sure with Oh Great but I remember "Silky Whip" before Tenjho Tenge.
