I wonder if...
1. ...they plan on dubbing the movies or leaving them sub-only?
2. ...the second movie's U.S. subtitle will also have an Arthur C. Clarke reference?

Movie was pretty good for fans with some cool Yoko fanservice/action scenes but I'd rather some sort of alt universe OVA, such as the scenes shown from the very first ep. Now that would be epic.
Still, I'm sure Bandai will eventually snap this up and put out a sub+dub DVD release.

I would be more interested in a U.S. premiere of the Eureka Seven movie. Just saying.

Unlikely. It hasn't been licensed (or at least, no license acquisition has been announced), this showing is by Aniplex directly.

Prediction: License announcement at Anime Expo.

The movie really isn't worth actually owning to keep, it's mostly just a recap. The point of these films is to see it in theaters. Really just a waste of time for home consumer viewing unless you have an amazing setup, and then why not just watch the show instead?
That said, I'd go see it if it were in theaters, but that's not happening.

I'd be happier with an announcement of the Kara no Kyoukai movies.

Agreed, but how do you release it? One at a time or in packs? Except for the Type-Moon fans and those already very interested, doing it one movie at a time might hurt it because the first four movies just build up so slowly, it might turn a lot of people off if they have to buy each one at a time in the premier order.
And then because the first four are all 50 minutes, putting only one on each DVD seems like a waste. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Yeah it was shown at Fanime and I found it very entertaining even though I had already seen the series.
Hiroyuki Yamaga said that for the gurren-hen movie they had roughly 30 minutes of new footage. He announced that for the second movie they would have roughly 60 minutes of new footage. The story alterations were good in my opinion and they did a great job of condensing the first (roughly) 13 episodes into 2 hours.
I would definitely buy it.

I would too. It may not be hybridized (sub + dub) until at least 2010, but with the new footage and the fact that it hasn't been on Sci Fi yet, hell yeah I would buy it! And it's the first 15 episodes. It has to be, because they can't end a theatrical movie on a cliffhanger; only America is stupid enough to do that (see Matrix Reloaded and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest) .
Here's hoping for an announcement that Bandai/Bang Zoom is doing the dub of it (this is too big NOT to be dubbed), but it BETTER be screening at AWA at least in subs in September, or I call GIGA DRILL SHENANIGANS!!!
