A CALL for COSPLAY ENTHUSIASTS and ANIME LOVERS!

A fabulous new event to show off your costumes and exult with your favorite characters!

A first in RED HOOK at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Association Art Show
Art In Changing Perspectives 2009
located in Brooklyn New York.

Where: 499 Van Brunt St. Brooklyn, NY 11231
When: August 8th, 2009
From: 2 pm to 5:30 pm
Cost: Your Costume is Your Admission Very Happy

Be a part of the ART! Show off your own costume creations while being involved in the hippest art scene in Brooklyn!

Walk around and enjoy the art while being a walking artwork yourself!

We will have a short competition for best costume. We have a stage and a piano which are available for your use. The competition is free-form and spontaneous, though as a rule of thumb, you should keep it to about a minute or two.

Prizes will be given for the best costume

We'll be videotaping that day and we'll show it all on Brooklyn Cable Access TV (BCAT) and on www.bcat.tv after the event.

Keep the costumes street-legal, avoid nudity, avoid realistic weaponry and avoid depictions of health care and emergency workers. Other than that, there's lot of room for expression! If you have questions about what sort of costuming choices aren't allowed, we can send you a detailed list of what not to wear (basically, we looked up the Anime Expo rules as a guideline - follow those and you can't go wrong).

BWAC would like to have everyone enjoy the show!

BWAC is a public venue, open to anyone and everyone. No pre-registration is required, so come on in and bring the delight! Admission is free!

We will also be showing some japanese animated featurettes all day in our screening room. Once again, everything's free of charge, so come on down and enjoy!
