When I was a teenager and saw Nadesico, I instantly fell in love with Gai, only to be furious that he died in something like the SECOND EPISODE and I realized he was just a parody of the Typical Mecha Hero. Unfortunately I haven't seen any such original shows with this Typical Hot-Tempered Mecha Hero. Has anyone out there seen the ORIGINAL shows that started this stereotype, and can anyone let me know which ones of them have a good story/characters? I want to see ones that make me cry like Gai did over Joe's death! xD
