That is because it is the only decent anime they show on tv. But know we have seed and witch hunter robin so we can all jump for joy.

Haha, not many of my friends are anime fans, or people around here. But of course there are some. The popular animes are here are, I suppose "typical" popular animes that people have heard of, mainly though I'd say: Inu Yasha, Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing, Evangelion, and for some reason a popular one around here for people who know anime at all is the Angel Sanctuary OAV's. Oh and I almost forgot, a lot of my friends are FLCL fans, even the ones who don't even watch anime.
I live a little outside of Cleveland about fourty-five minutes, to an hour away, way out in the country. -_- I miss living in the city. |

Last Exile and Yu Yu Hakusho are huge in my area. Last week when volume five of Last Exile came out, I had to go three stores just to find one copy of it. That may not seem like a big deal to some, but here, if you sell out of an anime that's more or less like lightning striking the same person, in the same location like four seperate times...or something.

Around these parts Saiyuki is pretty popular, and Naruto is getting a pretty big following. I know a couple of people who plan on going cosplay to the next upcoming con.

I don't know, maybe whatever's on TV.
Like Mon Colle Knights (English dubbed), Pokemon (Chinese dubbed), Crush Gear (Chinese dubbed), Digimon (Chinese dubbed), and some others I don't remember. Not many hardcore otaku here in Singapore. But I remember a friend telling me the top sellers in his store are Cowboy Bebop, Naruto, and mainstream stuff like that. |

Hmm. I guess it depends. But around here, I've noticed a lot of mecha anime in low stock, particularly the newer releases like Gundam SEED and Eva Platinum.
Umm, and my friends are pretty crazy for Azumanga Daioh. Oh, and I haven't seen a lot of copies of GitS: SAC either. |

Dragon Ball, all generations of Goku. Surprisingly enough, the show was on the air for over 9 years on local TV before it was beat out of its' time slot by pokemon. Next big thing was Yugioh!, but the euphoria died down after the TCG did
 .
Nowadays, otakus pop out of every corner, bringing to light new seires or classics that collectors like me go ga-ga over 
and for some unknown reason, weird series like Super Doll Licca Chan or Corrector Yui are in incredibly hot demand around here. |

I guess Dragon Ball, it's very popular among the kiddies.
Other than that I have to say Naruto, One Piece and Initial D. Oh.....I forgot once in my area Cardcaptor Sakura was very hot |

I forgot that One Piece is also on TV on Saturday afternoons. English dubbed. Very popular now, but the so-called "elitists" (not true hard core otaku like me, just about half-way there I think) prefer to buy the subbed versions, which are also on sale in most places.
Earlier this year, the Chinese TV channel aired re-runs of Maison Ikkoku (Chinese dubbed) for the 4th time. So I think Maison Ikkoku should be quite popular here. But it was aired at 1:30 a.m. (previously time they aired it, it was 5:30 a.m.) so they probably didn't bank on it being very popular with the kiddies. More likely, they were targeting the more mature audiences who would stay up or get up early to watch it. Well, these stuff is what's on regular TV. Then there's cable (which I don't have) and I know they had Kenshin and some of the newer stuff previously. Don't know about now. |

Naruto is the lifeblood of the guys in the Art Institute of Atlanta animation department. That & the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game, but I don't think they watch that series all that much. Naruto's very much the main event.
