Again, I just love the cute murderer child (voiced by Motoko Kumai, who has voiced a lot of cute children like Shaoran Li from Cardcaptor Sakura) and his amazing drawings in magical diary.

I wish there was experimental anime, totally made with that psychedelic style.

By the way, I find it quite endearing that basically all characters call each other by names, even murderers do that when they talk to their supposed victims, and vise versa. For example, in latest episode, Hol Horse inserted his finger in Polnareff's nose, and the latter asks:
Quote:
What the hell are you doing, Hol Horse?

-- as if anyone would care to say names in such situations, let alone name of an adversary. It is so naive and old-school, its charming, I love it. Just like all those proclamations and explanation characters do about what is happening, it is ridiculous, but lovable.

This show one of the most original in style, storytelling, character design/visual presentation. This kind of work is why I have become anime fan, not those dreadful slice of life, school club, melodramas or harems or whatever.

Does anyone know why subtitles say that evil-predictor child's name is Mondata, while his actual name is "Boingo" (or something) as voice actors say it?

Season 2, episode 14:

Good episode overall. Loved the way spoiler[Iggy fought against that bird, aka Pet Shop. I think his voice fits well too for a dog; or rather I should say badass dog.]

Season 2, Episode 17

Wow, this once awesome show is really limping to the finish line, isn't it? People aren't even bothering commenting any more. I kind of thought that since we've finally reached the mansion, things might get a little more intense, right? Nope, two episodes of "fighting" via video games. Lame, lame, lame.

However, to give the show credit, I was actually still entertained and engaged but I can't help thinking things should be a lot more interesting and intense. Really, D'arby the Younger is just a retread of his brother except that he doesn't cheat and he uses video games to battle with instead of games of chance. Not to mention that after 41 episodes (if you count the first season) I'm getting a little tired of the Stand user formula. Shocking how long they've actually been able to keep that going without driving everyone insane, though.

Season 2, episode 17:

I just love the creativity of this show. spoiler[This week, it continues with the game themes. And also, it's interesting to see how much emotions they pour into each episode as to what they are fighting for.]

I expect the main battle to take place soon. It has some pacing issues but overall still very enjoyable imo for entertainment.

Stardust Crusaders finale:

Great episode overall. At long last, Dio has been defeated and in style by Jotaro. Glad to see it all end well for the heroes especially with his defeat and also Holly no longer in mortal danger. I loved the fight itself as well as it kept its momentum from start to finish.

Anyways, yeah..rating this Excellent.

My only slight disappointment is that they didn't announce Part 4 (Diamond is Unbreakable). I mean, there wasn't even a hint at all. Hopefully someday....

I'll be fine, Part Four or no (though that would be great). The way Part Three ended was spectacular. 10/10.

Part 4, episode 1.

Pretty solid start overall

The voice acting is good and I like Jousuke's portrayal in this. Those fabulous hair is just glorious to look at while I kinda like his personality as well. Jotaro and Jousuke's on-screen chemistry is also nice.

The Stands already looks quite stylistic and I can't wait to see more. A good reminder is not to talk trash about Jousuke's hair!

Episode 2

I'm slightly annoyed by how stupid the escape was, since you could see it coming a mile off. Also that once again, they've sidelined the JoJo-related women to "protect" them from the truth. Since they have other active female characters, I don't know why they keep doing this. And the mangaka really hates dogs, doesn't he.

All that aside, this was still tasty JoJo goodness. I really, really enjoy Jotaro and Josuke working together. They play off each other very well. Too bad that means shifting Jotaro's color scheme from black to white.

Changing the stand name from Crazy Diamond to Shining Diamond was really unnecessary as that phrase is not copyrighted or trademarked. Anyone know what Aqua Necklace is a reference to?

I only just realized today that the JoJo's narrator is Coach Ochiai from Ace of Diamond. Very Happy

Yup, Ookawa Tooru. He's also Roy in the first FMA series and Tenjin in Noragami, etc.

I can't be the only one who's amused that Savage Garden is this season's ending theme. Anime hyper Though I'm fairly disappointed that I read a huge spoiler (not sure if it was trolling or real, but nonetheless...) for one of the future parts in the comments of the YouTube video.

According to the Jojo wiki (because of course there's a wiki) it's a reference to the band Aqua. You know, the ones who did "Barbie Girl"?

Thank you. I'd never heard the whole song, let alone knew of the artist, since I'd quit listening to the radio by then, so I only ever passively caught the hook in random public places or on tv when it couldn't be avoided. Now that I've seen the lyrics, I consider that a blessing and an affirmation of why I quit. Smile

I forgot how absolutely savage Angelo was, I'm not fond of dogs or their owners too but daaaaamn Laughing. I have to admit, Angelo tricking Josuke's grandfather into drinking his stand was incredibly clever, and also pretty convenient that he stalked the poor old guy to know to pull that trick against him.

I liked how Josuke went BAOH for a second there. The way they are pacing these first two episodes we are going to be watching for a while.

I'm not a fan of IV but we gotta get through it to get to V and beyond. I hope it succeeds. This is the closest we have ever been.

Episode 2:

I think the OP song is fabulous and the ED theme song has a nostalgic feel to it. Pacing is fine for now, they adapted everything what I had expected so far.

I feel really bad for Josuke's grandpa though...
At least they managed to get justice against Angelo. I'm starting to get used to the animation style as well, wasn't a big fan of it at first but I think it's working well now.
