If a cast member has a listed role in a title and is also listed as "Additional Voices", submit the listed role only. "Additional Voices" entries are, at most, redundant - unless the cast member does not have a listed role in the anime.

I find this decision ill-advised.
"Additional voices" covers every kind of uncredited or indeterminate voice work on an anime. By discarding this information in those cases where the VA is also listed among the credited cast, we are discarding potentially useful information. There is a great deal of difference between a listing in a VA's credits that looks like this (made-up example, in case you couldn't tell): Mobile Suit Spongebob as Professor Nimblebrains; Commander Argh (eps 7-13); [+unlisted credits] (eps 1-3, 5, 9-11) and one that looks like this: Mobile Suit Spongebob as Professor Nimblebrains; Commander Argh (eps 7-13) In the second example, note that we've lost the valuable extra datum that tells us that this hypothetical VA has been a regular workhorse on this anime. This may give us insight into the way he works, and isn't that one of the things the Encyclopedia is there for? - abunai |

Hello,
If you're modifying the ANN submission policy shouldn't you be changing the Submit New Cast page, not posting it in the forum? Also, the Submit New Cast page says,
It looks like some of your rules are condricting each other. Are you saying that "A cast member can be added many times (with different roles) in an anime..." except for unnamed roles, but someone who is listed only for unnamed roles can be added as long as the role is left blank? chris keck |
