As I am currently reading a pretty heavy manga, I was looking for another to balance the moods. I am seeking a lighthearted romantic comedy. Preferably one with a good emphasis on the comedy part. Pretty much anything with a good, happy atmosphere would do very well, recommendations would be much appreciated. Oh and nudity and language don't really bother me at all. Thanks!

EDIT: I probably should have mentioned this, I am pretty unfamiliar with the big names in romantic comedy. So it is pretty safe to say that no matter how obvious something you are about to suggest is, I will not have heard of it Laughing

Sounds like School Rumble would be a good choice. A hilarious romantic comedy and the atmosphere is definitely an upbeat one (sure, Tenma, Harima, and others can get depressed every now and then, but they pick themselves back up soon enough). An excellent manga/anime to choose.

Masakazu Katsura's Video Girl Ai and I's are both great but they are bit heavy on drama. I still think they have also very funny moments.

Rumiko Takahashi's is one of the best manga I've read from any genre it has good balance on comedy and drama. Urusei Yatsura is much more absurd and comedic but has less romance and drama.

Izumi Matsumoto's Kimagure Orange Road has a very strong start but after that its drama development sort of stops but even after that it still works as a comedy. Much of the comedy comes from main character's and his sisters' psychic powers.

Love Hina could be much better without repetitive punching of Keitaro. Although almost all romantic comedies have moments where the female protagonist punches the male protagonist because he accidentally sees her naked or something like that but Love Hina over uses the joke so much it's not funny any more.

I have read both I"s and Video Girl AI, which were both good, but I am definetly looking for something with less heavy drama type stuff and more comedic value. I have not heard of the others, and will look into them.

This is what I should have written:
Rumiko Takahashi's Maison Ikkoku is one of the best manga I've read from any genre it has good balance on comedy and drama. Urusei Yatsura is much more absurd and comedic but has less romance and drama.

I think you could say Maison Ikkoku is a more mature version of Urusei Yatsura without fantasy or sci-fi elements.

Love Roma

The artwork is a bit of an acquired taste, but oh god, if my house was on fire I would run back in to grab those copies.

The plot is essentially a newly minted couple developing their relationship-- often it's awkwardly heartwarming and does a flawless job of retaining that cute innocent love. Probably way too cheesy but I probably bought all of it Embarassed

well, I've only read 4 manga's, but 2 of them were romantic comedies that haven't been mentioned:

Marmalade Boy and High School Debut

both of these were really good, and because of them I've been toying with the idea of reading more like them Very Happy

Lovely Complex might be good. About a tall girl and a short guy. They argue alot but become friends. Then one of them end up falling for the other. Laughing

Um..I saw the anime and didn't read the manga but also try Midori Days. About a tough guy guy whos desperate for a girlfriend but cant get one cause he looks scary. He wakes up and his right hand is now a girl.

Both are better then they sound. I just suck at explaining is all.
