Yet another moe looking anime potential. Cthultu is also really popular.

Not really that weird, just yet another goddess meets boy kind of anime again.

Except that the goddess is "the crawling chaos," "the mad faceless god, [who] howls blindly to the piping of two amorphous idiot flute-players," "the soul and messenger of of Infinity's Other Gods." In a romacom.

Like I said, weirdest idea ever.

The story centers around Nyarlathotep, a formless Cthulhu deity who can take on the shape of anyone it wishes, but particularly the shape of a seemingly ordinary silver-haired girl.

*facefloor*

At one point in time, Cthulhu use to be badass...

She looks cute enough to make me watch the first episode. The plot looks totally messed up, something out of ordinary, that's also good news.

The more I think about it, though, in the hands of a witty writing team this could be a rather amusing parody of the ridiculous goddess-dates-a-boy series that crop up all the time: the uber-cute moe girl who seems perfect at first sight winds up being a formless abomination of the outer reaches who slowly drives the poor boy and everyone around him into deep and dark madness.

Most likely, though, it'll just follow the old tired tropes rather than mock them. *sigh* Has there ever been a good adaptation of Lovecraft?

I've read all the current chapters of that series and to be honest, I really don't think there needs to be anime adaptation yet.

I'll admit, at first I thought this series would turn out to be another ecchi/moe series. Turned to be one of several favorite manga's currently and I give the series a A+. No nudity and no over the top, extremely creepy moe.

As for this series, not only does this sound really weird, it also has the possibility to become very, very creepy.
