there was a thread here for Battle Royale and I'm sure people have seen some of his other movies so I thought I should post the link to his art and manga.

Battle Royale isn't really a Kitano movie. He just acted in it.

I should have checked that out first, but I just saw his name and got the movie Sad Bad move. Battle Royale was very disappointing and nowhere near as good as real Kitano movies.

Now if Sonatine will actually get released on dvd...

it was a Beat Takeshi movie. I thought it was good. though I haven't seen too many Takeshi Kitano movies so I can't really compare.

No it wasnt,at least not in the sense that he directed it.It was a Kinji Fukasaku movie and Im pretty sure that now he's dead(R.I.P) his son is taking over for number two.

Beat Takeshi is what he calls himself when acting and Takeshi Kitano when writing and directing.

imdb has both Kinji Fukasaku and Kenta Fukasaku (his son) as directing. Kinji Fukasaku died 12 January 2003.

you said it wasn't a Beat Takeshi movie. it was, cause its a Beat Takeshi movie when he acts.

I think what he meant was that it was not a Beat Takeshi movie as in he did not DIRECT it... although his part was not large in Battle Royale, he still did a great job in it, that ending... ugh, I will never forget how amazing it was. Anime smile As for his other movies, yeah, I love 'em all... Fireworks, Brother... so amazing.

Thats exactly what I meant,sorry I thought you were implying he directed it.Typically movies are labelled with the directors name not the actors
