(I didn't really know where to post this, I was going to post this on CrunchyRoll's message boards but apparently I need cr points or something.)
Ok so I was looking around CrunchyRoll for a good anime to watch and I came across Fairy Tale. It kinda reminded me of One-Piece so I clicked the link but all the videos were for "premium users only". But this isn't what confused me. You can have shows for premium users only it actually makes sense to me from a buisness point of view, but who is the audience here? I mean they started at episode 28 and they have yet to put up episode 1-27. So they want you to pay so you can start watching a show at ep 28? The only people who will actually know what is going on are the people who watched the illegal fan-sub. And I can guarantee you that a good 60-70 % of the people watching the fan-sub arn't gonna pay the cash to watch it legally. That narrows down your audience to 20-30 % of the fan sub watchers (if your lucky) and people who don't care about continuity. I don't know maybe they have somthing planned and I'm just suffering from a case of Did not do the Research It just seems strange to me is all. |

CR worked out a deal that allowed them to make this show available worldwide (pretty hard to do) however the condition of this was that its only available to paying members and they have to remove the episodes 30 days after its released. hopefully one day they'll be able to put the episodes back up but if you want to see the old episodes you'll have to find them somewhere else.

CR started with Fairy Tale episode 1 (I know, I watched it there). So the issue, as has been stated, is their agreement with the guys who are allowing them to stream the series.

I think I remember there was an episode of the ANNcast where they explained that the anime company probably hoped that someone would pick up the licenses to it, but ended up putting it online because it was the best deal they could get at the time.
But in order to try and keep some value in the series they told CR to take the episodes down thirty days after they were posted. And since it started on CR last September, a lot of the older episodes have been taken down since then. |

I've been able to find the episodes pretty easily...
I must say, I highly recommend it. I don't particularly care for animes like One Piece but for some reason, I think Fairy Tail is great. It is REALLY funny and some of the different types of magic are pretty cool. Especially Erza's Valkyrie Skirt (or something like that). I hope you find it, it's a pretty cool anime. |

We know where to find it if we need to... it's pretty much assumed people know where to find something if they need too so its not needed to state it can be found. Most will talk in context of "legal" methods and it should just be assumed that is where the indvidual is speaking from. Honestly I've not much of a fan for Hiro Mashima's mangas and their anime adaptation. I guess I just don't like his writing. The art is okay but he just doesn't do anything for me. But the anime is okay to me as a non-fan. The earlier episodes are a little awkward and "meh" in quality, but it gets decent later on. But I did stop watching around ep. 8 or 9. |
