Ahh, one of my personal favourite titles. Has anybody seen the anime?
Personally, I really liked it, even though it had the typical shonen set-up. The Character designs were a little awkward to me at first, and Ai's voice was a little grating at times. But the odd abilities & gags got me hooked into the series. I really liked the music in the series as well, with Falco (OP1), No Regret (OP2) & Bokutachi Ni Aru Mono (ED4) being my favourites out of the OP/ED songs.
I'm also aware of the manga that has recently been released by Viz this month. Is the anime a faithful adaptation of the manga? I plan on getting Vol. 1 of the manga, but if the adaptation is faithful, I might not buy it, since I've already seen it animated. Was the series cut short?
Also, I've heard that there was a sequel series (in manga form). Is this true?

I've only read the first volume of the manga and watched the first DVD of the anime, but I think it's an excellent title. I had actually begun to think I was getting tired of shonen series when I wasn't really finding any new ones that I thought were good, but Ueki just proved it was the individual series problems, not the genre's.
But just going on the first DVD and manga, the manga seems to be a little more fleshed out. I'm not sure if it was cut short, or if the first series was entirely animated. There is a sequel series called Law of Ueki Plus, and I think it's still fairly new.
Where I stand right now, I can see this being a pretty big favorite of mine. These kinds of shonen series that are just fun, silly, and overly light are by far the best type. I really like Mori's voice. I really enjoy the work of her seiyuu though, so I was pretty happy to see her and Romi Paku taking the lead roles.

Is the characters designs for the show done by the same people who did One Piece? They look really similar to me. I've only seen some trailers for it and I think it looks nice but I'm not sure what it's about. Anyone care to enlighten me?

No. The same character design as Da Capo apparently. I don't see the similarity at all though. Maybe just someone who happens to have the same name.
Also, I have no interest in this series, seems like a generic shounen to me. No offense, it's just not my type of anime. I saw one episode (last episode, lol) to hear my beloved seiyuu, Toromi.

I dunno why they look like One Piece some...maybe it's the faces. Anyways, thanks for the clarification.

I don't see much of One Piece in The Law of Ueki's design, but then again, if it's not Hiro Mashima of Rave Master fame, I don't see much of One Piece in anyone's design.
Toromi? You're going to have to help me out on this one. While I'm sure Netrun-mon the Movie is something up your alley, I can't see that one performance being the make for her being a favorite seiyuu.
The Law of Ueki is pretty standard shonen, so it's not a series that's going to win over any non-shonen fans, but if you like shonen series, this is definitely an enjoyable showcase. Plus, I really do like the main cast of seiyuu.

Well, she mainly does voices for hentai games (actually, everything on her profile here was added by me)... and yes, I've played some of them. In particular, her performance of Mii in Popotan won me over. I would have never thought ANY seiyuu would be able to replace Halko's voice of Mii for the anime... I ended up prefering her voice for Mii over Halko. Because she does hentai, she's much more of an "underground" seiyuu though, she's not even that well known in Japan as far as I know. She has a very cute website also.
Unfortunately, she only gets one line in The Law of Ueki. I have no idea why she even did it. Iirc, doing voices for hentai pays more than regular anime.
