That explains it.

I went to a McDonald's which is usually very empty last week. The lines were insanely long. I thought maybe it was because it was Sunday, and it was my first time to go to McDonald's on a Sunday.

And almost all of the people in there were families with young children.
A lot of them were looking at the toys.

After reading this news I understand the reason why it was so busy.

I still can't believe to this day grown men around my age or a little older play Aikatsu even after seeing pictures of them lining up to play the arcade game, watching the show is one thing (as well as buying some of the pricer merchandise and BDs) but the games have no adult male appeal, it just looks embarrassing and a bit worrysome.

The only reason they play the game is to look at the characters more and actually play with them

Good point, maybe they should make an Aikatsu game that's a little bit more more geared towards male Otaku. I bet it would sell alright if they did.

The kids probably have their eyes on the Youkai Watch toys.

This franchise has been very popular with kids in Japan lately.
