Ueki is one of the shows I'm surprised I didn't get into earlier, but I'm getting a fresh go with the DVDs, so I don't mind.
The cool thing about Ueki is that while the review is dead on, it's still been one of the more enjoyable shonen series I've seen this year. Volume three didn't really have the general punch the first two volumes had, but I still really enjoyed my time spent with it. It's a reminder to me why I love the genre, even if Ueki is so deeply rooted in that genre (I guess that would be a pun...).
It's one of the series I like to have on just to have it on, so I've come to warm up to the dub, even if it is vastly inferior to the all-star cast of the Japanese version, which is pretty weak given the talent to begin with.

I didn't mind the dubs too much, except for one sidekick who will remain nameless...
I feel that this series does a pretty good job of making you want more once the credits roll. Some other shows are almost like an entire series in an episode. You get the full BME, and then next time its a new problem, or what have you. I like series with more of an arc, so you build anticipation with the audience. It's hard waiting to find out what happens to Ueki and the Robert's 10!
