USA! USA! USA!
Man, I'd totally support this if I had more cash available to me right now... Guess I'll see how this turns out and whether or not the stretch goals are met, and re-evaluate my financial situation at the end of the month... |

If I've learned anything about giant robots, it's that we need to Gundamjack someone else's giant robot at the last moment if we want any chance to win.

I find it funny (or maybe its more apt to saying frightening) that it's a 2.5x stretch goal to "improve safety for the pilots".

The concept art is pretty funny. Eagles with avaitor's shades and gatling guns coming out of their beaks... love it! I will be shocked if they actually make a giant chainsaw on the arm!

So the American team challenges Japan and then they have to begin a Kickstarter campaign to help them win? That doesn't bode well.
I'm all for America but I'm really hoping that Japan wipes the floor with them. |

That caught my attention as well. I'd probably start out with things like safety and stability rather than weapons since it would be nice if nobody got seriously hurt and the robots didn't get flipped like expensive turtles. |

As cool as this thing is, its practical do a melee battle wish it.
They'll need advertise a lot more to make it pass the 500k mark. |

They will leave the keys in the ignition and some Japanese kid will steal the thing during some kind of state of emergency.

I expected that to be the case, but color me surprised that it has already gotten 25% of the way. Based on the average KS, it needs to get probably something like 60% (at least) in the first 2 days, but that's a pretty strong start since we're still less than 24 hrs (I think less than 12) in. |

Yeah, this is blowing up all over the internet. 25% of their goal in 12 hours is nothing to sneeze at. I wouldn't be surprised if they hit their stretch goals, but I have been wrong about crowdfunding campaigns that started out relatively strong before... |

And then a PLA conscript with a Type 69 RPG one-shots it. Hell, live rifle or machine gun fire would probably be sufficient enough to kill the pilot or otherwise disable key systems. |

So am I the only one who keeps misreading the key words in this headline as "MedaBots" and therefore am disappointed nobody is fielding a huge replica of Metabee?

I doubt you are the only but I didn't misread as that. Now, it would be nice to see a real MedaBots fight, |
