Tenamonya Voyagers, yeah, baby!
 A lightweight OVA with no pretensions to great writing or great art; a space "road trip" where almost nothing goes right. I still have the Bandai DVD. But now, I have that OP music (a silly little march) stuck in my head...

I've seen bits and pieces of the Harlock CG film...
It does NOT look good. Stick to the traditional (hand-drawn) anime of Harlock. It seems much better by comparison! When you don't hear much about certain anime, it usually doesn't mean anything good but the Harlock CG feature is definitely lousy, IMHO. There are not many great anime CG features out there yet. That is one area where Disney and Pixar are still arguably doing much better story- and character-wise even without getting into the character design and stiff-animation issues they still have in many of the anime CG productions. <Sigh> I just wish they hadn't utterly abandoned hand-drawn features in the West. The polygon features just don't do it for me... |
