I think this is a great choice to kickstart a dub. I expect this project to raise more than $180,000. I am not a big Emma fan, but I plan to back the project and get the two seasons BD's.

I'm a little gobsmacked by just how many options they have for pledging; there's a lot of flexibility in some of those tiers. And some of the higher tiers have some really high quality offerings, so color me impressed!

I just backed it, but realizing they won't use UK actors, meaning they'll be attempting accents, and that there is no HD version in Japan, meaning upscale, just had me do a double take in wondering if I really want to back this.

As an European, I don't really want to do US-based kickstarters. It's never worth it with shipping, I don't own a credit card (not very common here, actually) and I don't really like companies using crowd funding in the first place.

That being said, I'd still buy a set if it comes to rightstuf. The manga is very cute! I'm not thrilled about British people being voiced by Americans, but I don't really need a dub in the first place, I guess. Also: upscale?
I still prefer BD over DVD, if only for longer lasting discs, but still.

*edit* Actually, international shipping isn't so bad! Not bad at all. I'm just used to worse, I guess.

I was all in until I saw they were using Headline in NY. I love Emma, but I’m really not interested in hearing it with fake English accents. Hopefully, Nozomi will make some cast announcements before the Kickstarter ends, like they did with Aria.

How do you know we won't use UK actors?

This will be an upscale. But so was Aria - seasons 1-3.

If there is one thing I beg of you, it is to disprove our current fears. Existing precedents instil little by the way of hope.

You realize there are lots of British actors that aren't actually in the UK. Especially in New York, right? There are also stage actors that can do an authentic accent. We aren't going to have some dub where someone is doing nothing but a crap effort to disguise they are from New Jersey.

Hi this is Ann from Pied Piper, assisting on Nozomi's Kickstarter. I know that Shawne decided from day 1 that the dub must have authentic accents. One of the reasons why he's going with Headline Studios is that they are based in NYC and have access to a huge talent pool. The dub director Joe DiGiorgi is 100% committed to making this dub sound authentic.

Hence my comment hoping for some cast announcements Wink

I would like to see a Kickstarter to redubbing both RGU series.
I can see them doing this since it's popular

Yeah, and I didn't buy it because I've been burned by upscales before.

The reaction that I have seen has been very positive. Perhaps check out some of the reviews online? I know our team worked very hard on it.
