I'm fairly certain the author was heavily influenced by Land Before Time, given their works have been all Dinosaur related. This definitely having the strongest influence. Having seen a bit of the movie in Korean, I'd say it's different enough that I'd just say it's more influenced than a rip-off. That said, South Korea released a trailer around the time the movie was screen during a Korean film festival, with Japanese voice acting w/ Korean Subs, late 2018: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Bx3Cd3L_no&feature=emb_title Movie was also shown off there in Japanese, too. Anyways, glad to see Japan finally get it. It'd been released in key markets across Asia and I was getting nervous Japan was gonna skip over this movie. The follow up to Umasou wasn't received that well from what I heard, so I was afraid the movie both wouldn't screen in Japan and the Japanese version would end up not being shown in any capacity as a result, outside of the previous mention Glad to be proven wrong here. |
